Vidyalaya has high duty photo copier separately for Primary Section which is installed in the Primary Resource Room. Also Primary related worksheets, handouts and unit test question papers are prepared in the school photocopier & digital duplicator which are for common use for the students and for official work.

Vidyalaya has separate Resource Room for Primary Section having TV, Computer (no.1), OHP, Photocopier, film CDs, Subject related CDs. & CDs of Teacher prepared power points, White Board., Xerox Machine etc.

LCD Projector with computer (no.2) with internet connectivity is installed in the conference hall which is used for the primary students. Also a 29” colour TV with TATA SKY connection is installed in the conference hall for the use of primary children.

Utilization of monthly fund is being done regularly

Money from VVN is procured and Teaching Learning material is being purchased during first week of every month regularly. All the primary teachers are being provided with ample (TLM) to make teaching effective. Sufficient activity sheets are being prepared by PRTs. The Vidyalaya being three sections school a sum of Rs.2000/- is allocated to primary every month for daily activities.

Subject Committee Meeting is done in every month’s last working day before the Principal’s meeting starts by the H.M.

HM participated in CMP meetings and Monthly Academic Meetings. Teachers participated in school/cluster/regional level workshop /in-service courses.

Cluster Level Workshop for Primary Teachers held in the Vidyalaya on 31.1.2010 on - Activity based Joyful Learning.

30 Participants from seven cluster schools participated in the workshop.

Demo lessons of the participating teachers in the presence of other teachers and Principal followed by Peer group interaction was done effectively.

Training for contractual Teachers for the session 2011-12 was done in the month of April. Also Teachers from Utkal public, Jatni school attended the workshop for primary teachers.

Classroom space is spacious according to the size of the class. Drinking water facility is good Acquaguards are functional. Toilet cleanliness is being monitored by the cleanliness committee regularly.The students are provided with playground material so that they make adequate use of games period under the supervisor of sports coach.

School Management and Community support

I-V School Management

Children are encouraged to come to school regularly. The parents of long absentees are informed and called for the counseling Full support is being given to the teachers academically. Funds are allocated to strengthen the primary education as mentioned earlier. Regular supervision of classes is done by H.M and Principal.

Steps are being taken to enhance the lighting and ventilation facility. Switches, fans and lights are regularly checked for working condition. The school garden is maintained beautifully. Classroom well decorated and display boards are being maintained regularly.

Social Environment:-

I-V Social Environment The Teacher-students enjoy good rapport. All the primary teachers have cordial relationships with each other and with the H.M. Full support from the authorities are being given to the teachers in order to have excellence in their teaching. Parents are involved to have cordial relationship and smooth functioning of the Vidyalaya in regular parent-teacher meeting. HM

Co-curricular activities

I-V CCA

CCA activities for primary students are done as per the schedule for the whole year. Almost all students are encouraged to participate in different competitions. Students participated in different co-curricular activities at Vidyalaya level and at cluster level, state level and prizes & certificates are given to the students from different organizations as well as from school fund time to time.

The syllabus is being covered as per the split up of syllabus. Competency based teaching is done in primary section which is supported by ample activity sheets. Sufficient teaching learning material is being provided to the students.

9 Classroom Library I-V Class library is running effectively

In primary section class library is running effectively. Each section is provided 50 books. The books are provided up to the level of the child. The books are safely kept in the classroom’s steel almirah.

10 Teacher preparation:- I-V Four primary teachers attended in-service courses for primary during this academic session and one primary teacher attended the in-service course as a resource person as well as a facilitator for the GSWP programme.

There are two teachers system in class I and II and in classes III, IV and V there is subject teacher system. Most of the staff is experienced mature and capable to handle primary students. Daily activity plan is prepared by the teachers before going to their respective classes. Four teachers attended in-service courses for primary during this academic session and one teacher attended the in-service course as a resource person as well as a facilitator for the GSWP programme. . They shared their experiences with other teachers during subject committee meetings on last working day.

The vidyalaya gets full support from the Regional office for the teacher preparation .Regular monitoring and advice by the Education Officer encouraged the teachers to have better teaching learning experience.

11 Classroom practice and processes. I-V Pupil-Teacher ratio is approximately 1:45.

Children are made to set group-wise around Hexagonal tables in classes' I and II. Class room bulletin boards are beautifully decorated with relevant material for the students. Pupil-Teacher ratio is approximately 1:45. Regular continuous and comprehensive evaluation (CCE) is done on monthly basis for classes I & II.

Opening time.

I-V The school starts at 7:30 A.M

The school opens on everyday except for the holidays as listed by KVS. The actual no of working days in a year is approximately 210.The school starts at 7:30 A.M in the morning and closes at 1:40 P.M. The schools run for 6 hrs 10 min in a day.

There are 17 Primary teachers in the school. Total no. of section in primary from I-V is 15.A teacher teaches three classes on an average. Teachers are involved in non-teaching assignments as well as computer work regularly.

Learner's Assessment

I-V Students are assessed on five point grading system as per guidelines given by the KVS.

Students are assessed on five point grading system as per guidelines given by the KVS. In classes I and II the students are assessed daily on the basis of classroom performance. In classes III, IV and V they are assessed periodically. On an average learner's attendance is above 90%. Rewards are administered to the deserving students. No corporal punishments is given to the defaulters instead red, yellow cards are issued to them and parents are called accordingly. PTM is conducted periodically to update the parents about their ward's performance and progress.
